Boy Scout Troop 188 Committee Meeting

February 3, 2000


Present: Norm B., Terry M., Roberta T. Minutes from 01/06 were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report: The Troop checking account has $ 1,5556.93. Of this, $ 265.62 is being held in Individual Scout Accounts. Therefore the "usable" balance of the Troop's account is $1,291.31.

Checking account transactions 01/06-02/03/00:

01/06 Deposit - popcorn money               + $686.00
01/06 Deposit - 00 registration and camp deposit          + $210.00

Registration and Camp Dues: Roberta will mail out account statements to each scout's parents to inform them of their son's financial status regarding registration and summer camp. It was noted that at a previous committee meeting it was determined that any boy not registered/paid by Klondike could not attend because of insurance coverage.

The Troop registration form for Camp San Isabel needs to be submitted by 2/16/00.

Norm will hold a swim date at EPIC for requirements for rank advancement on 2/19.

9 Scouts and 9 Webelos from P188 attended the Ski/Snowboarding trip held on 1/22/00.

District Recognition Dinner: Volunteers will meet at PRPA at 12:00 p.m. on 2/4 to prepare food for that night's dinner. The Troop needs to perform the flag ceremony. All boys and adult volunteers will meet at Rocky Mountain High School at 5:00 p.m. Boys need to be in complete uniform. The boys will earn 25% of the profit made by the Troop for this function; the 25% will divided by the number of boys assisting.

Calendar:

2/4- District recognition dinner at Rocky Mountain High School.
2/25-27 - Klondike Campout at Gould, CO. $7.00 per person pre-registered by
2/21. Check in is 12:00 noon.
2/22 - Board of Review for advancing Scouts.
2/29 - 6:00 p.m. - PLC. 7:00 p.m. - Court of Honor. Linton Elementary School.
3/4 - Snowboarding trip - Keystone, CO
3/18 - Scouting for Food Drive and Scout Show - Foothills Fashion Mall
4/15 - Troop campout. Location to be announced.
4/29 - Trip to IMAX and Zoo in Denver.

Old Business:

1. A check for camping items still needs to be given to Les B.'s troop. News flash!! A $60.00 check was given to Les B. on 2/4/00!!

2. Patrol boxes - waiting for prototype from Art S.

3. The storage unit is now being used to house Troop equipment.

4. Patrol flags - These will be decorated with fabric pens and hemmed to a standardized size. They have not been made as of yet. Patrol yells have been invented, however.

5. John F. has donated an American flag to the Troop. It has flown over both the State and National Capitols. The old one can be retired at a campout.

6. A troop librarian is stilll needed.

New Business:

1. Roberta announced her retirement from Troop 188 effective March 2, 2000. She will turn over all secretarial/treasury records at that date, and suggested that 2 people be recruited to fill the positions.

The next committee meeting will be held at Linton on March 2, 2000 at 7:00.
