Old Business
------------
Lake Powell Trip: Pictures posted to web site: www.troop188.org
Trip expense was $262.50, within original estimates. Finished "Motor Boat on Water" Merit Badge for 5 scouts (Andy, Jason, Colin, Eamonn, Nic) Scouts thought trip was "fun and relaxing!" They enjoyed working together as a group, and everyone got along including the adult leaders.
Terry and Norm will prepare presentation for upcoming Court of Honor.

Summer Camp: Letter sent to Durbin and Wendi S. to thank them for bring trailer to haul supplies to summer camp.

PLC Campout: 7 scouts and 3 leaders attended this campout and planning activity for next year's goals and events. All scouts participated in work. Andy did good job in leading discussions. They evaluated past year's goals and incorporated improvements into next year's goals.

New Business
------------
Weekly meetings: August 22nd is first day back at Linton for meetings.
PRPA meeting room used for meetings in meantime. However, the PRPA room was not cleaned up after August 3rd meeting. We need to have scouts clean up and arrange meeting room after each meeting.

Flag Ceremony: Troop 188 will conduct flag ceremony at Millenium Trails dedication on August 5th. Scouts will meet at 10:30 AM at Linton School to practice flag presentation before driving to dedication. We will provide US, Colorado, and Troop flags. Scouts will return at 3:00 PM. Greg I. will handle permission slips and tour permit for this event.

Chamber Lake Campout: Backpacking campout and SOAR project to clean up around the lake. Scouts will leave Linton at 4:00 PM on August 18th, and return around Noon on August 20th to the Linton School parking lot. Greg I. will handle permission slips and tour permit for this event.

Court of Honor: Scheduled for Tuesday, August 29th, at Linton School.

Review New Calendar:
- Note themes for each month involve Merit Badge work. We need adults to help as Merit Badge counselors. Please see Norm B. for information on merit badges and requirements.
- Some events on new calendar leave little time between Summer Camp and High Adventure trip. Possibly, we can switch dates for Family Campout with Summer Camp. We will leave planned dates on calendar as tentative until Summper Camp location and dates are known.
- New Calendar approved by everyone present.

Review New Troop Goals:
Norm will track progress on goals. Calendar events planned to meet these goals. Troop meeting after monthly PLC meeting will work on advancement. Service projects can involve individual activities (e.g. Working at Cub Camp or Religious Service). Each scout needs to let Norm know about any individual service project.

Honor Scout Award: Quarterly recognition for Honor Scout based on list of qualifications. Leaders would nominate scouts for this award. PLC would elect Honor Scout from nominated scouts. Honor Scout would wear special neckerchief (possibly white with Honor Scout in bold letters). Honor scout would receive priviledges (like eating a good meal with adults on campouts). Possibly, we could record Honor Scouts on a plaque mounted at Linton School. Norm will put the Honor Scout requirements on troop web page. Committee approved changes to quarterly recognition.

PLC Goals: Communication between scouts and adults needs work. The PLC retreat reflects progress in developing activities for goals. Andy has taken a greater leadership role as Senior Patrol leader. Monthly PLC meeting will review progress.

Venture Patrol: Some question about Venture scouts wearing the dark green shirts. Terry found that only scouts in Venture Units can wear the dark green shirts. Venture patrols are part of an existing troop, and they wear the standard BSA troop uniforms, but Venture patrols can participate in activities with Venture Units. We want to keep Venture patrol as part of existing troop to help younger boys. Plan to form a Venture patrol after next Court of Honor for scouts at Star level or above and age of 14 years or older. Committee approved plan for Venture patrol and future activities.

Board of Review: Need Advancement chairman to setup reviews and monitor scout advancement. John F. will accept responsibility as Advancement chairman, and he will arrange upcoming board of review.

Next Committee Meeting: Meet at Linton at 7:00 PM on September 7th.
