Boy Scout Troop 188 Committee Meeting
May 30, 1999

Present: Norm B., Terry M., Roberta T., Greg I., and Loren D.

Treasurer's Report: The Troop checking account has $3,748.47. Of the
$3748.47, $2,415.00 is allotted towards summer camp, and $186.08 is being
held in Individual Scout Accounts. Therefore the "usable" balance of
the Troop's account is $1,147.39.
The Greeley account has approximately $88.00.

Troop Meeting Itinerary:

June 8 - fitness tests
June 12-17 - High Adventure Trip to Moab, Utah. The Troop will be camping at SlickRock campground and will be leaving the Linton parking lot at 7:00 am Saturday June 12 and returning at approx. 3:00 pm on Thursday,
June 17. Cost per Scout is$110.00 and includes meals, camping, and admission fees. Permission slips and money are due by June 1.
June 15 - bowling
June 22 - gear inspection/summer camp overview
June 27-July 3 - Summer camp at Camp Laramie Peaks. Terry needs a final list of those scouts and adults attending. Transportation for 21 boys is required. Permission forms need to be turned into Norm.

Calendar:

July 23-25 - PLC campout - site needs to be chosen
August 13-15 - Chambers Lake campout
August 25 - 1st day school - PSD
August 31 - Court of Honor
September 10 - 12 - Family campout. Greg I. will look into the
availability of Hermit Park.
September 10-12 - OA Fellowship weekend
October 1-3 - Fall Camporee
October 16-17 - Webelos campout ( free camping at Boyd?)

Last Court of Honor Review: The Committee agreed that more explanation
for what the awards presented are for, and that a program leaflet should
be handed out at each Court of Honor. The emcees need to be better prepared.

Board of Review: The Committee needs to develop a list of people to contact
for future Boards; ideally this should be composed of people not on the
committee.

Old Business:

1. A check for camping items still needs to be given to Les B.'s troop.

2. Patrol box plans will be compiled and submitted to the boys for review.

New Business:

1. Terry will arrange for the Troop to use the Community Booth at the Mall
to sell popcorn.
2. Troop meetings will be restructured to have each patrol plan a 15-20
minute game for that week.

The committee voted to move committee meetings to the first Thursday of
each month. The next one will be at Norm B.'s July 8th at 7:00 p.m.
